FAQ

Q: What are the benefits of “custom-tailoring”?

A: At MARKSMEN (Singapore), we practice “custom-tailoring”, where you choose the style, the fabric and all other details. The Master Tailor will measure and make a mock-up suit for you to try on. Together with the Master Tailor, you will then decide how the fitting can be improved. The final suit is made only after you have decided on the fit and design.

In other words, the suit not only matches your measurements but also your individual style and preferences. This is the reason why discerning consumers prefer “custom-tailoring” over buying off-the-shelf clothing.

Q: Is it possible to make only individual components or pieces such as just the shirt or trousers?

A: Yes, we do custom-tailoring for any individual component or pieces, such as shirts or trousers. In fact, many of our customers custom-tailor multiple pieces of shirt and trousers only, because they like the style and comfort of our products and wear them regularly as working business attire.

Q: How much does it cost to make a suit?

A: The cost of making a suit depends on the material used, the style and complexity of the design. Usually the cost of custom-tailoring a suit ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand Singapore dollars.

Q: Do you work on fabrics provided by customers?

A: Yes, however this is subject to terms and conditions.

Q: How can I, as a customer, be assured of the quality of your workmanship?

A: We have been in the custom-tailoring business for over 40 years, and there are samples of our hand-made products in our shop for your viewing. We have many satisfied and returning customers. You can be assured that we take pride in our workmanship.

Q: Do you provide alteration services?

A: We usually provide alteration services only for our own products, however we also provide alteration services on non-MARKSMEN products for recommended customers on a case-by-case basis.
